All About Mackensen Elementary
Rooted in Care. Growing Every Learner.
At Mackensen Elementary, care is more than kindness. It’s a daily commitment to helping every child thrive. Located in Bay City’s Monitor Township, our school serves approximately 280 resident and school-of-choice students in Pre-K through 5th grade. With a dedicated staff, strong family partnerships, and a close-knit community, Mackensen is a place where every learner is known, supported, and celebrated.
We believe that strong relationships build strong learners. That’s why our experienced educators go above and beyond to meet the unique academic and social-emotional needs of every student. Through student-led learning, hands-on classroom experiences, and targeted support programs like BIGTime reading intervention, we create the kind of environment where students feel safe to take risks and are proud to grow.
As a National Showcase School through Capturing Kids’ Hearts, Mackensen is rooted in connection and belonging. Families are essential partners in our success, with opportunities to get involved through classroom volunteering, field trip chaperoning, and school-wide events like Trunk-or-Treat and our End-of-Year Celebration.
At Mackensen, we’re building a joyful learning experience where every Bulldog is equipped to succeed. Please feel free to contact us at (989) 684-4958 with any questions you may have or to schedule your school tour.
